Vegetable Momos Recipe

Momos is a very famous traditional dish of Tibet and Nepal but nowadays it is made and eaten globally.The best thing about this recipe is that it has very few calories because it is make by steam. Momos is quick to digest and nutritious dish, it is the best option for breakfast.So today we will learn how to make vegetable momos at home.

Ingredients For Vegetable Momos Recipe-veg-momos
For Momos Cover-
Maida -1 cup
Baking Powder- 1 tsp
For Stuffing-
Capsicum- 1 (Grated)
Cabbage- 1 cup (Grated)
Carrot- 1/2 Cup (Finely Chopped)
Green peas- 4 Tbsp
Onion – 1 (Finely chopped)
Paneer – 1/2 cup (Grated)
Butter – 2 tbsp
Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilly Powder- 1/2 tsp
Green Chilly – 1 (Finely Chopped)
Ginger – 1 piece (Grated)
Vinegar – 1 tsp
Soya Sauce- 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves – 2 tsp (Finely Chopped)
Salt – As per Your taste

Method For Making Vegetable Momos Recipe-

  • For Making vegetable momos first of all take maida in a large bowl, mix baking powder with maida and make a soft dough by adding little water at a time.
  • Cover the dough and leave it for 1 hour, after 1 hour the dough should be ready for momos cover.
  • Now we will prepare stuffing for momos,for making stuffing first of all heat butter in a fry pan, when butter melted than add grated ginger, onion and green chilly and fry them for few minutes.
  • After that add chopped vegetable (capsicum, cabbage,carrot and green peas, etc.) , grated cottage cheese, black pepper, red chilly powder, vinegar, soya sauce, salt and chopped coriander leaves and fry with ladle for 2-3 minutes.
  • Momos stuffing is now ready to make momos.
  • Now take a portion of the dough and make small balls from it, now take a ball and roll it with the help of dry flour like a small poori.
  • Put the 1 tsp stuff on the disc and fold the disc with crease (edges). Prepare all the momos in the same way.
  • Now we have to cook the momos over steam, to do this you can use the Momos stand for steaming the momos.
  • At a time 12 to 14 momos will fit in one Momos stand and Cook over the steam for 20 minutes.
  • If we do not have momos stand to make the momos then put a filter stand in a big bottomed pot and keep the momos on top of the filter.
  • Fill water, at the bottom of the filter stand, in the pot and heat it for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • The momos are ready, take them out in a plate from filter. Prepare all Vegetable Momos in the same way.
  • Finally, your delicious vegetable momos are ready to serve.
  • Serve hot vegetable momos with Tomato Chutney or green Coriander chutney.
